Up until recently, when I click on YouTube videos in my browser, it always loaded up my YouTube app...which was great. The App works better than the site itself.

For the last week or so, the YouTube site has been popping up when I click on a video in my browser. It's annoying. I didn't change anything, so I'm not sure why it started doing it.

I have tried:

1. about:debug path and setting all sites to desktop (I read being on the Mobile site can cause this to happen)

2. I cleared all data and restored defaults by going into Settings > Managing Applications > YouTube.

Neither one of these worked. How can I go back to the YouTube app loading when I click on a video in my browser?

Tried the same and cannot find answer either. Happened since last update.

Are you saying that the browser pops up to play the Youtube video?
If so, try going to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All->Internet
Try clearing the launch defaults.

I believe this is the new behavior with the last OTA (software version 2.11.605.19) where HTC had to make changes due to an Apple lawsuit. It's the same one that caused a customs delay for the new HTC EVO 4G LTE and the HTC One X last month. It's what also caused the new app associations function at Menu, Settings, Applications, App associations. Although under those settings I don't see any option to select Youtube. :(

You have to root and change some files in order to restore the functionality. See this for more info:
