I am currently using a BB on ATT network I am so wanting to distant myself from BB and I would love advice on just a GOOD middle of the road android phone that will work on ATT so I can just swap the sim cards over. I am trying to hold out for the nexus but I'm unsure when it may be coming to att and also the price point is sure to be high. Also is it best to buy your phone from say some other retailer instead of the carrier store?

Take a look at the Motorla Atrix 2 or the Samsung infuse.. Both are great phones.. I personaly am going from an Iphone to the Atrix 2 as it is more updated wiht newer OS , Dual Core Processor and 1 gig of Ram.. Also if you go through Wallmart or best buy on an upgrade the phones are only 49.99 as opposed to 99.99 at Att

The Atrix is only $24.99 on Amazon Wireless. The Infuse 4G is $49.99. The HTC Inspire 4G is $29.99. I have found Amazon to usually have the cheapest prices most of the time. They can get beat from time to time. These are the best "middle of the road" android phones on AT&T. The newest being the Galaxy S II. I have bought phones off of Amazon for a couple of years, but I have only bought new and not on a contract extension. I have had no problems with them and the phones usually come very quickly.

I would lean toward the Atrix because hardware wise it is better (dual proc) and cheaper now on an upgrade.

I never get my phone from a company store. Their prices are usually higher and they sometimes can not match internet prices.

You can also check Newegg and TigerDirect. They generally have good deals on phones. They sporadically send me emails on phone specials as well.

Great advice so far, and all three are solid phones. Go to Best Buy (or any B&M) and comparatively shop. You'll quickly toss the worst of the bunch, then you're down to two.

I avoid the company store also - price just too high, and no value for the difference.

Yea, definitely go to the stores to check each phone out in person. Go to wherever has all the phones you want or has the most phone options. Then go to whatever store has the best price, or, buy online, to make your actual purchase, hehe. I am with Verizon and bought my phone from Costco, they really take care of you there. I don't think they have AT&T phones though. :'(
