...but I dropped my Note the other day and there are small scuffs on two of the corners. I have insurance on the phone, and have only had it for a week. Would I be able to return it or, in everyone's experience, would I have to pay a deductible to get it sorted out?

Does anybody know if the phone has to be in pristine condition to be returned within the 30 days? I would not say the phone is damaged at all, but you can definitely see the scuffs if you look closely at the corners.

i got the sgsiii after having the g-note but for me i couldnt handle the smaller screen, hard as i tried becuz sgsiii is awesome... sorry, dont know about the condition phone needs to be in but.....

do urself a favor before u go thru too much trubble, make certain u could handle downsizing. i thought for sure i could because of all the amazing things the sgsiii offered but it turns out i just couldn't and back she went... i still miss it after the 2 days i spent with it, but i will get over it a lot sooner than i woulda looking at that smaller screen a million times a day....

good luck

Thank you for the response! Luckily as I've had the phone for only about a week, I am still in the period where the screen size is awkward to me, so I think the move from 5.3 to 4.8" is going to be perfect.

Guy here at work has the Note, I find the screen to be to big! I cut out a piece of paper to the size of the sgs3 and compared it to my DX and the sgs3 really is about the same size although a bit larger. All in all I'm really excited to see this screen! hopefully it's better than the maxx, which I returned!:D

I ended up looking at one of my student's iPhones the other day, and it really felt like a tiny toy. The entire phone fit well within just the screen of the Note. I couldn't believe that I actually used one of those for two years.

There have been times I've returned a phone at AT&T and they haven't even opened up the box and looked to make sure the phone is in there! I would say if you have to "look close" to see the scuffs, it certainly can't hurt to go in there and try. Good luck!

According to AT&T's official Return policy that is listed on their site you won't be allowed to return/exchange the Note for another device since it has been physically damaged. You can take it into a AT&T store just to be sure as no one on here can honestly tell you what AT&T will do in your case. Here is AT&T's return policy:

Returned equipment, other than the Closeout Items, must be in the manufacturer's original packaging and be in like-new condition (no physical or water damage)

Scroll down to the bottom of this link and you'll see another link to their return policy.

Thanks for your replies! I will definitely give it a try in a few days when the SIII comes in. I do like the Note, but I'm really hoping I'm not stuck with it as I've been looking forward to the SIII for months.

I am confused as well, if I should return the Note or not. The problem is with the black clipping issue in the note, but otherwise love the huge screen. Not sure what I should be doing.

FWIW, just returned my IPhone 5 yesterday within the 30 day return period in anticipation of the new Note 2 that should be out in the next few weeks... I had dropped my 5 once and got a nice and noticeable dent on the top. The screen also had a few light scratches...

Two AT&T guys were working on my return and didnt even notice or inspect the phone for damage.

Just be a nice guy when you go in and I'm sure it'll be fine.

Been an apple guy since the beginning and was just not wowed enough with the 5... Android here I come :)
