This mistake is costing me a lot of frustration and wasted time.
Apparently, Verizon Wireless today is having some kind of customer service database problems for the past two hours and basically can't do anything.
Timely that I would decide this morning to try and set up a password for my SIM card. I thought the phone was asking me to enter (read: create) the password for the SIM card, but nope... it already has a default password, and was asking me to enter that. I entered (read: tried to create) a password twice, and BAM... locked out of my phone. The only way to unlock the phone now is to enter a PUK code, which Verizon does not give you when you buy your phone.
Since the phone is locked, I have no way to call Verizon Support. I went down to the retail store instead, and found out there is nothing they can do until their systems are back up... with NO ETA after an hour of being down. So, I had to leave my phone with them and will have to go back later to pick it up once they fix the issue.
