Warning to Verizon g pad 8.3 owners

Warning to all Android device users - installing a non-rooted ROM results in a non-rooted device (and updates aren't rooted).

It's not something peculiar to the Verizon G Pad 8.3, what's peculiar is that the update ran on a rooted device. Doing that can brick the device. (Not always, but it's dangerous enough that all updates should do a "standard ROM, not rooted" check before running.)

So how would I go about re-rooting it? It thinks its rooted but its not
