Hello i am on my 2nd Note 5 on AT&T Next plan as my first one messed up now I am having issues with my 2nd one as it tends to restart on its own for no apparent reason is it possible for AT&T to give me a different phone other than the Note 5?

Nope it just restarts. Like pressing the power button then hitting restart but my Note 5 restarts on its own. Really close to switching to iPhone

Are you still under Samsung's (1 yr.) warranty, or are you insured thru AT&T Asurion? With either it is unlikely you'll get it replaced with something other than what you have. The only exception would be if you were willing to accept an inferior phone model (eg. Galaxy S4 or S5), I would think. Give 'em a call instead of guessing.

I have hear people calling and getting results that way. My brother had several issues with a device. Don't remember which one and after a few tries they finally let him switch to another device. However it wasn't just any device. They gave him a choice of like two to choose from if I recall correctly.

I've had a situation where I was able to get a newer model phone because I had returned my old phone twice. The only thing with that was i only got the newer model phone because the phone I had was near end of life. It may not work out that way with the note 5 though . If they do give you a different phone it may be an older model. It doesn't hurt to call and see what they can do. They may just give you a brand new note 5 instead of a refurbished one.

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean. I asked if the phone randomly restarts in Safe Mode as well, and you said "Nope it just restarts." Do you mean that no, it doesn't restart randomly in Safe Mode, or yes, it does?

Insured through AT&T Asurion. I got my Note 5 brand new back in September then got a refurbished back in June. Gotcha because I actually want to throw my Note 5 against a wall

It randomly restarts and goes to the homescreen but not in safe mode.

If it doesn't happen in Safe Mode, then the problem may be due to some app you installed. Uninstall apps one by one to see if the problem goes away.
