Hi all. So it's been 8 months with my note 8. This is my first time having a Note. And I really have nothing bad to say about it the performance it's excellent. Pen is great and never had any trouble with it. But to be honest I almost never use the pen 😳 and it's a shame I just never got used to it other than doodling when I'm bored. I love it's uniqueness but I feel like it is a wasted feature in my part. I really want to upgrade to the Galaxy 10 when is time, but maybe the note version is not for me. How often do you guys use your pens? Or is it just better to have it there. Than to not have it all??

I don't use it as often as I did when I was house hunting, but I still use it for keeping notes for work and sending birthday text with live messages.

I use it to make grocery lists and lists of my ailments to tell the doctor about while I sit and wait for him. lol That's about it for me, but I do think it is a great feature.

Love the pen, opens up the phone to a lot of options... especially if you need reminders, to also jot down info, send quick notes. If the pen is not needed, I'd opt for one of the S9 or S10 phones. might even go smaller... the phones are getting... big these days.

If you don't use it, the non-Note Galaxy's are likely a great fit for you.

My wife had a Note for years, and it could have come with no pen, for all she used it. She loved the phone overall, though. I use my Note 8's S-pen probably weekly, so I sure appreciate having it personally.

I do love the s9 plus pretty amazing , I do have a question does anyone know when the Samsung one Ui will come to galaxy Note 8 on tmobile

The S-pen is the real deal, IMHO. I too, like most other owners, will use the pen daily. It's one of the best features for the device.

I modify and tune performance cars for a living. Almost daily, a customer sends me pix of their mods/engine bay, etc. I can quickly and graphically assist them with fitment, directions, datalog highlights, etc.

I had a Note 7 (poof!), love the 8. Played with a 9 but the changes aren't worth the effort. Looking forward to the 10. That's gonna be my upgrade.

I would get a note vs galaxy anyway.... Just in case. Plus it's worth more at resale.

I use my s-pen A LOT! One of the sole reason I always buy a Note! I've had the Note 4, 5 & now the 8. And yes, I WILL Be Upgrading to the Note 10!

I my Note 3 I only used it to annotate screen shots of my website or spreadsheets to clarify something to the recipient.

I use the pen occasionally. I use the translate feature on some websites that are in Japanese or even Italian to English. Not much else. A rare note or two.

Remember when the 8 came out, there were other features that the Note 8 had over it's closest comparable S8+... slightly larger best in class OLED, dual camera vs the single, and more importantly 6GB ram vs 4GB. Even if i knew I wouldnt use the pen much I think I would have gone 8 for the differences mentioned even though I am not a fan of the overall dimensions.

Going forward, if you were comparing Note 9 and S9+, the only difference is pretty much the S-Pen and if you didn't use the Pen then you'd be just better off with the 9+ with just a little screen and battery size diff but with smaller dimensions (which I prefer). So If you are thinking of the S10 when it comes out. If you come to the conclusion that you really didn't use the S-pen much and most importantly you feel you wouldn't notice if you didn't have it, then I'd just get the S10+ if all other specs pretty much the same.

I use the SPen every day for a variety of reasons. I miss it when I use a phone without it. I've been using Note devices since the Note 2 though. I saw the value in it way back then and it continues to become more valuable.

That's me though. Plenty of people never touch it. If that's the case then I would say pick up the S10 when it comes out. Maybe you just don't need or want a pen. It's not for everyone.
