Watch and Drool

My favorite lines from the video:

"iPhone killer."
"take note Apple."
"Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is pretty much perfect -- there I said it."
"I mean, look how it locks. Amazing, facial recognition is pretty much the future."

Take note of that, Siri.

Next Apple lawsuit:

Patent infringement on face unlock. Apple patented looking at a screen first.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned too much in the Galaxy Nexus/ICS articles is the multi-tasking screen with a resemblance to webOS where you can scroll through your webpages/apps and flick them off. Maybe I missed the comments about this, and I know a major webOS developer has been involved with Honeycomb and ICS.

Coming from webOS, but still with an EVO 4G, this is one of the key elements that is attractive to me about the next version of Android and the Galaxy Nexus. Any other info about this kind of easy use integration into Ice Cream Sandwich?

I guess you haven't heard the news, yet. Siri had a nervous breakdown, and lapsed into a vegetative state, after seeing the video. Don't worry docs are treating her as we speak. Unfortunately, she is unable to eat solid foods, so she has been eating soft foods, mainly ice cream sandwhiches andre drinking lots of vanilla soda. Strangely, she is refusing to eat applesauce for some reason. They say she will like suffer some form of long term PST but she may recover. Although, she'll never recover 100%.

As far as I know, the same gesture can be done to clear out single notifications in the pull down and opened web pages in the browser. Not sure of anywhere else in the OS where that can be done, but I can imagine other apps taking advantage of more gesture control.

Thanks Cory,

Had a crap day, and the Nexus news did not help. Seeing that video reminded me why I care so much.

I mean, that screen..... My God....

Thanks, Mooem, I look forward to learning more about ICS and the GN in action in the coming weeks. I'm on Sprint and due for a new phone. I'm hopin' that leaked Nexus Prime poster invoice form was not a fake. Hey, Sprint, you're the "Now Network", I want the new Nexus now! Or at least soon after it's released on Verizon!

They should send the RAF over here to drop off a few cases. We bailed them outta trouble in WWII. C'mon, it's war and peace and we need a big piece of that Nexus pie. Do it for FDR, he knew this moment would come when he said "the only thing we have to fear, is fear of the Galaxy Nexus not on our shelf". Maybe, not those exact words, but he'd definitely want to have on in his pocket if he was alive.

The US/Verizon version is a bit thicker.

thank you, thank you, thank you Cory!

Finally something positive and new being shared about this dang phone! That video just put my distaste for VZW on hold, hopefully long enough until I can actually get my hands on the phone!

It can't get here soon enough for me!

Well, I was about to say the same as you, as i have a D.Charge myself. The screen is beautiful and when I compare to the Iph4 or 4S, you're right - the colors on the iphone simply look washed out!!!

That said - i'm just salivating at a phone that looks to be iphone's antithesis.

And you know something???? I'll take facial recognition over Siri any day. I've been a witness to just how useless Siri is (friends at work demoed and let me demo, and I wasn't the least bit impressed). That said, just my opinion. Facial recognition comes in handy for someone, like me, on the train commuting to work. Real deal for me? Getting rid of my charge to get the G-nex!

i would be drooling if ICS for nexus s isnt as good lol

If sprints downward spiral continues big red and nexus galaxy will be my new home yeee

Hey look! I didn't know this, so forgive my ignorance, but.... it looks like the soft buttons completely disappear when wathching a video! Using all 4.65 inches! Awesome.... I guess when you tap the screen, they re-appear.

Get "Speaktoit" from the ANdroid market. Free, and it works just like Siri.

Great video but I just want one showing Verizon's LTE version in action. It'll make the wait easier to take.....:D

The speed and clarity are simply amazing. I guess I should spend time on all the FAQs since this will be my first android device....a good way to pass the time!
