Watch to go with new Note 10

Most reviews I've been reading say the Watch Actives aren't very accurate as a fitness watch. Not sure if it's the same for all Samsung watches or not.
I've read the same. I used a Gear S3 up until the Active 2 and never had any issues with accuracy for my uses. I've tested both side by side with my Apple Watch 4 and they come up with very similar measurements for heart rate and distance. The Active 2 and the AW4 both seem to have faster sensors than the Gear S3, but that's to be expected from newer devices.

On the Android side, and definitely Samsung, I would recommend the Active 2. For iPhone users it's the AW4 or 5.

I put my Watch Active back on yesterday and put my AW Series 5 away for a few days. My routine during the week is fairly the same everyday. I should be able to estimate how accurate the Active is.

Awesome. Look forward to hearing how they did. The Active 2 has twice as many sensors as the Active. Sammy knew they screwed that one up.

For my part, I have the AW4 and just got the Note10+. I'll keep the Apple watch for my inevitable return to an iPhone. (I just like to jump back and forth!). My first watch was the Gear S2 LTE. It was a great little watch. I occasionally got the message that there was too much sweat to read my HR. I would just tighten the band and it would work. My son still uses that watch 4 years later!

Can't wait for the Active 2 to go on sale. Pissed that Sammy won't let me use my Note10 credit on it so I refuse to pay full price for. Just the principle of the thing really...

Thanks for all the input!

I love my Gear S3 Frontier. Use Samsung Pay with it quite often. Can't imagine why Samsung dropped that with the newer versions.

I have the active 2 LTE and so far it's been awesome. Very good notification and heart rate sensor is right on. Much better than the AW 5 which I returned.

Yep. I was comparing the GW to my S3 and I wouldn't gain anything with the GW except for maybe better battery life and I'd lose MST. Even the sizes are the same.

The newer watches still have Samsung Pay. It's just NFC and not MST. I wish all of them had MST.

Gear S3 frontier for last 2 years and it only got better with updates.

I've been going back and forth between my Watch Active and LTE Series 3 AW. If the Watch Active doesn't start growing on me I'm considering getting a Series 5 AW LTE.

How would you use the AW with the Note 10+? I sold my AW Series 4 when I sold my XS Max to go to the Note 10+

I have the LTE Series 5 and use my XS Max to keep it paired. I don't get phone calls or texts from non-iPhone users on my Apple Watch, but everything else works pretty well. I'm currently using the Gear S3 Frontier though, and thinking of selling my Series 5 Apple Watch.

Gotcha. That's what I don't like about the AW...it needs an iPhone to pair with. I've contemplated going to the Pro Max and getting a Series 5 but decided against it when Android 10 beta came out and made the Note 10+ capable of gesture navigation. Besides, when I look at the iOS interface, I just really find it boring so will just wait until the next iPhone 5G is announced next year and then decide if I wanna jump back to Apple.

IMO go with the GWA2. I got 4 plus days on 1 charge. Granted 1 of the days I didn't wear it at all. The battery is a beast.

I have the Galaxy Watch and I miss the Google element of it, on my previous Huawei watch, I could play Google Play Music on my watch. On the Galaxy Watch you cant. I haven't used Bixby on it so cannot comment on that.

App selection isn't really great on Tizen unfortunately. Well unless you wanna use a bunch of no name developers. I tend to only trust apps from developers I've heard of.

Thats whats disappointing. Other than the health app, there isn't much to choose from.
