Watching movies with hdmi

My aunt has a Razr Maxx and would like to watch movies she's downloaded to her handset from her computer. Is it as simple as plugging in an hdmi-miniHDMI cable to her phone and TV? Run MX Player and voila?

Anything I need to know before purchasing the miniHDMI to HDMI cable?

Mine works exactly as you describe. As long ad I can play it on my phone, I can put it on my TV via the HDMI cable.
