Went on YouTube and did nothing but watch videos on the Xoom. It seems to me that this tablet won't be obsolete for another 1.5 years or 2 years. What else does it need. It has almost everything! This tablet is going to be awesome from the looks of the videos.

Second thoughts: The Tegra 3 is coming out in the fall, with Blu-Ray capabilities and faster processes. Should I get the Xoom now?? Or wait for another tablet with the Tegra 3. There is always going to be something better coming out. I really don't want the Tegra 3, all I want is to know that my tablet will get all the updates, I want to know that it won't be obsolete in 6 months.

Hey speaking of watching videos, does anyone know what format vids have to be in to watch them on HC or other Android versions? Are there any codecs one can DL to make it easy to watch all your vids w/o converting them? One of the big reasons I hate iPhone and iPad is the fact that I have tons of vids on my comp and would have to convert them to be able to put them on there. I remember my Treo 755p had a program that you could basically watch any format of video, then when the Pre came out, there was no such thing and the limited types of vids sucked.

Having second thoughts about this. The Xoom will come out with 3G but upgraded with 4G. Will the 4G version be an upgraded version with upgraded specs. Also the Tegra 3 is now coming in the fall with blu-ray capabilities.

No its going to be a hardware upgrade... Like to give them your unit and in a week or so they ship it back with the 4g module installed. My question is do they figure that in to the $800 cost of the unit or is that extra?

There's always a "next best thing" in tech. Bluray would be nice, but at the same time, I doubt that an android based tablet would ever support it, since android doesn't have anything built in to support Disc drives right now. You're also talking a MUCH more expensive screen.

Remember, Microsoft commited to bringing windows to ARM-based chipsets, this could be where the Tegra3 is headed.

Don't make a final decision yet until you actually start seeing reviews of the Xoom, but like I said earlier, if you want to wait until your device is the best of the best with no improvements in sight, you'll never make a purchase. :)

Im going for the Xoom. No matter what. Pure Android and this is what Honeycomb was made on. I am still skeptical if the 4G version comes out and it is better. (talking spec wise) Oh well, if the 4G Xoom has better specs I will just pay the extra for it. Hurry so I can Xoom!

Again go look at the press release you are not get a new 4G tablet its just an upgrade for the 3G unit that adds 4G access. With that said, I am really in to a tablet with an unskinned version of Android. I think what Google is doing with the UI looks great on a tablet.

Google has done some amazing things with Honeycomb on Tablets, it honestly is leaps and bounds over what we have had with Froyo/Gingerbread.

This may be true(probably is true), but we don't know this yet. No one has given any official release specifying how the upgrade would occur. "upgradable" has been used 10 ways to Sunday by different folks associated with the device, with none of them actually sure or giving any specifics. Until we hear officially, we don't know how it will happen.
