I accidently dropped my phone inside a glass of water, and the top portion of the phone got submerged in water. I immanently took out the battery and wiped off the water, but when I turned it on and tried charging, the phone acted up and now my power on/off switch does not work, along with calling. What should I do?

You should have let it dry for at least a few days before you turned it on. I have submerged electronics in water and left them off for a week in a huge glass of rice and they worked fine afterwards. You might screwed now. :\

Take the battery out and put the phone in a bag of rice (apparently the rice absorbs moisture). Wait about a day a.d then test it. The buttons will probably no longer work but hopefully the rest of the phone will.

Good luck!

Update*
What I did was disassemble the phone and dried out the liquid and extra moisture. The phone ruins like a champ now

^^
Great that it works now.

If it happens again, remember to try and not turn it on again too soon, even if it appears dry on the outside. There could still be moisture inside that needs time to evaporate. Powering it up with internal moisture can kill it permanently.

It's hard to resist turning it on during the full drying, but worth the wait!

I had a Samsung dumbphone that went through a complete wash cycle. Dryed it out over two days, worked fine!
