Water weeps around the Camera?

If you look at this huge picture from Ifixit's teardown

You see there are what appear to be channels in the board surface, possibly to weep water intruding around the camera/flash buldge down to the internals of the phone.

When viewing the back of that piece, there is nothing following these channels from below.

Why would they do this? Nothing in these parts is left to chance, those channels have a function of some sort.

I see what you're talking about but I really doubt that they are there so that water can be led down the path.
It's much more likely that they are for dust. Possibly to chanel the dust into some easier-to-clean areas.
