Way better than expected... from the photos that is.

To tell you the truth qualcomm processors have been much faster than the omap series especially when you pit the new generation against what is offered in this. the processor in the g2 will run laps arouaround the 3620 shoot even the 3630
and that thing engadget said about it not running the full blur I call bull on that blur is blur they can change the colors but it's still the same thing

I have heard some great things about the G2. What is strange to me is that fact that my friend has an Evo and I still benchmark faster in Quadrant than he does with my completely stock Droid 1(usually rooted, currently stock). I also beat my friend with an Epic. Based on this and many other factors, I do not judge performance by clock speed. Architecture makes a huge difference.

How disappointing: small screen, clunky form factor. Even the warmed over D2 design was better than this.

Is VZW ever going to release a true flagship global Android phone? Say a 4" super amoled or retina-type display, top end processor, swype instead of a physical keyboard, and absolutely no Bing or other crapware aboard?

Does this mean also mean the the Droid 2 World Edition will not be coming out or will both these phones have global capabilities?

This Droid Pro is going to be huge for the business market. Wait and see.

The landscape mode could cause an issue.

The fact that phonedog's video showed the landscape keyboard showing will cut almost the entire screen out.

Having the QWERTY keyboard makes the touchscreen keyboard useless and less efficient, plus, who could type landscape when your thumb on the right has to reach all the way over the real keyboard to hit the buttons?

If you can lock out landscape mode like on the DINC it may be a lot better, providing you could install something like LaunchPro on it and don't need to deal with MOTOBlur

hey all, I'm new to the forum but I have been reading up about android for the past month or 1-1/2ish here on AC. I'm currently a Curve 8330 user(no flamin please :p lol) and this D-Pro is looking appealing to me when my upgrade becomes avail. Yes it does resemble a BB with the keypad, but I'm not a 'touch screen' type of person, otherwise my next choice would be the VZW Fasicinate. Been there done it with the S2, went back to my 8330. So, while the device itself may not be the best looking(nothing a nice snap-on cover can't fix ;) ), I am certainly interested to exam it when VZW drops this device to release! While I am still learning about android os etc., the specs look fine to me & I don't think I would be rooting my device for what I would use it for either, but I could change my mind about that!

Yeah this phone is really going to appeal to the Blackberry users (particularly non Storm users or people that like keyboards). It looks professional, but I just hate it. Anxious to get home (I'm on campus) and watch that hands on video though to get a better look.

I used the Motorola Q9 and they make a great keyboard!

I'm excited for this phone come out.

Hmmmm, Blackberry keyboard with an overall Palm Pixi-ish look. I'm going to need a world phone next year, and the BB 9650 is out of the question because it will probably be outdated by then. I somewhat like this phone but I hope somebody comes out with a better world phone, regardless of the carrier.

Even after seeing the Video and the pics. I'm not convinced that the loss of screen real estate is worth the KBD. I was a diehard physical keyboard person until the DInc. It took about 2 days to get used to the virtual KBD, but about 30 seconds to love the bigger screen.

It's all about personal preference, but I hope VZW follows up with an international phone with full touch screen.

HTC - Your turn! ;)

I would like to have seen a high res screen and a front facing camera. Other than that, I am impressed. The keyboard look alike is not an issue. RIM licensed it originally from Palm who also licensed it to Motorola.

This phone is going to hurt RIM on Verizon.

Coming from BB, this is right up my alley. I do own and use D2, DX but the keyboard is what I really miss with my BB and the Droid Pro will fit the bill nicely I think.
