I have wondered the same thing because I would love a small but powerful tablet.

I had the Nexus 7 and then the Nexus 9. Since the Nexus 9 was an HTC design and the Google Pixel team is essentially the old HTC team, why not? A tablet around 9" in size doesn't overlap with folding smartphones and is small enough to be easy to carry and hold.

Try the Lenovo M8 or M9. Been around for years now btw.
