Am I the only one for which the new, included "weather" app doesn't work? All I ever get is "Checking weather..." then "Could not retrieve weather. Check your internet connection". And this is both on the 360.1 and 360.2 and doesn't matter if my phone is on wifi or cell (T-Mobile). I thought maybe the last Android Wear update would fix it. Nope.

Turn on your GPS and try it--that seems to be the only way mine works. I put the GPS on battery saving mode so it doesn't drain it as quickly, but I think the issue is that it doesn't pull up the weather if it doesn't know where you're at.

mine works too. i have my location set to battery saving mode btw

I had it happen a couple times the last few days, usually I'd retry and it would work. So something's up. It seems better now though.

I do have GPS on, it is set to "Device Only", and all apps that need location seem to be able to get it just fine.

Tried weather again several more times and get the same message. This is connected to an N5. I don't understand why it is being a pain. It has never worked for me....

When I do a 'net search, I can find a few people with the same issue but never any resolution.

Mine is connected to an n5 too. I am however still on KitKat 4.4.4 😋

I should add that with pure Android, there is no way to have any other setting but "Device Only" or turning the GPS completely off if you refuse to allow location history. It appears to be Google's way to strong-arm users to force them to hand over data to Google.

Again, I have no problems with the Google-supplied weather app/widget ON THE PHONE, nor with any other program requesting location data. So I just don't see how this could be related to the weather app in Wear.

Wow- my 360.2 just updated to Android 6.0 and the weather app suddenly works for the first time!

I may have been a bit too excited. While it does work, it suddenly started showing me the forecast for several hundred miles away. Maps on phone shows correct location. When I rebooted the phone, it returned to showing local forecast on watch again. So it still seems a bit wonkey. I turned on my Moto 360.1 to see what it does, and it is still completely broken on that one (has not upgraded to Android 6 yet) and says the typical "could not retrieve weather. Check your internet connection".

Hi Demon, where do you set the GPS modes? I can't find in on Moto 360.2 marshmallow or LG G4 lollipop.

It's on the phone--for the LG phones hold down the GPS icon on the quick menu for a few seconds (or open location settings on the phone) and then tap Mode to change it.

My app is also broken. It says unable to check weather due to unknown error. Location services are on and other apps work, so not sure what is going on.
