Ever since switching from my Galaxy S6 to my S8 my Gear S3 Frontier has not auto updated location/weather. All permissions are the same as on my S6. Everything looks good as far as I can tell. Anyone have any ideas?
On your phone, open the Gear Manager for the S3 and look at the Info tab. You're looking for a notice that you have some apps that need updating. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly, all of my apps are current.
If it's not there, click on the Settings tab, scroll down to Apps and you can scroll down your app list to the Weather app and open it. See if there is an update available. It seems like there have been a couple updates to the Weather app over the last month or so.

I just got a prompt to update my weather app today. Maybe that update wasn't available when you checked and it will fix the issue. Also, did you check both the gear apps and the phone apps for updates and settings? I had some issues with my gear not pulling information over from my phone because I had never used the app it was trying to rely on, or it was updating daily instead of at a useful interval.
