Weather Location Services Error

I have the HTC Evo V 4G on Virgin Mobile's network. I've had the phone since early January of this year (2013) and not too long ago the weather stopped picking up my location. This problem is new. It hasn't given me odd cities, although it's pulling data from a district that's very near here but not quite here. Everything on the app is correct except the location.
Is there anything I can do?
My location services are on, I used Google Maps to try to pinpoint my location (and it works but only for a minute), and I tried to restart/power off/on my phone. Nothing seems to be working to resolve the issue permanently.
It's very frustrating. In addition to that, my weather lock screen does not always display day/night properly. This is a recurring issue that is not always present.
Is there anything I can do to fix it? I would prefer not to reset my phone as I don't like to do this, but if I must I will. I don't like errors on my phone.
The message I get when trying to update is "we cannot contact the location services"..something to that degree.

Thank you!

I've had my Evo since September 2011 and have been doing without my weather app for about 5 months. My location would change as I traveled to new towns but the weather would not update (even when I manually refresh). I tried something new today that has, so far, fixed the problem. Go to Menu, Settings, Applications, Storage Use, click on All at the top, scroll to Weather (mine was near the bottom), and click on Clear Data. After all that, go back to the Home Screen, tap on the Weather and click on refresh at the bottom. Mine is working now! Good luck!!
