Web Site Radars Won't Animate

Anytime I go to a weather website and click to "animate the radar", I just get a static image. Am I missing a setting? I have checked off:

-Load Images
-Enable JavaScript
-Enable plug-ins

I've tried WeatherUnderground and Accuweather websites.

It has something to do with the mobile sites you are trying. I just went to weather.com on my phone and the radar map does animate. I tried the sites you mentioned and neither of them will animate.

Update. Interesting find.

Seems accuweather and underground weather use animated .gif for the radar map. Weather.com uses flash...???....at least thats what is loaded on there full websites on the pc. Not sure about the mobile site uses.

But if the 2 you mentioned are using animated .gif even on the mobile version of the sites then IIRC. Android 2.1 cannot play animated .gif files

I read on an xda thread that the browser in 2.1 doesn't support animated GIF images. Bummer. I have noticed this problem as well.

Why don't you just use the Weather Channel App in the meantime. It's radars animate.
