Ok. So Android is Open Sourced. HP webOS is open sourced. Has ANYONE tried porting webOS over here? I would...LOVE, webOS on my Optimus as much as Windows Mobile. I'm not trying to promote either OS but still...Android runs ONLY Android. WM runs Android, and iPhone runs Android. Kinda strange...

AFAIK someone got webOS to boot on an Evo 4G, but that's about it. With webOS being as dead as it is, I just don't see the point.

It is indeed better in many (read: MOST) ways but without good competition there is no good innovation. It is in Android's best interest that companies such as Apple and RIM continue to produce good products.

Yeah, otherwise it'll be the same as madden games, putting out total crap that is the same every year just because there is no one else =/

I can see why nobody would want to try porting webOS to Android devices, it wouldn't be worth it. Android has many more features. But I'd imagine that its is possible.

What I'm interested in seeing ported is Mozilla's Boot2Gecko :-D. Once it matures a bit, I'd be interested in trying to port that to the Optimus S. Unlike WebOS, it seems to be built with using an Android Linux kernel in mind (rather than, or as an alternative to, a vanilla kernel), so perhaps we could get it working using one of Drew's awesome kernels!
