Webview is rendering a blank page in android 7.1

[Android Central Question]

Trying to render a url using a webview and i am getting a blank page in android 7.1. The same is fixed in 8.0 To be specific when the WebView implementation is updated to Chrome 65.0.3325.109 the issue is solved. I dont see any logs related to the issue.
I would like to know what was fixed and how can i add that in my app
