Weekly Photo Contest: Lights

I was confused. What should I submit with lights? I got a thought of capturing the lights which hardly get noticed by us even though they are around us daily. So I captured all the lights of house using my Nexus 5. Used Pixlr Express app to prepare the college photo.

Device: Nexus 5
App: Pixlr Express

So I was at concert in the start of 2014, and took a decent lot of pictures. But interestingly enough, the best and the most catchy one turned out to be the one I took using the HDR mode. It yielded some really incredible and unexpected results like those sparkly lightning effects! All that emotion, the slight silhouette-like shadows of the crowd and those lightning effects, all these elements really bring out the beauty in my opinion!

Lighted Diya (Diwali 2013, Georgetown, Guyana. S.A.)

This photo was taken using the Camera JB+ app on a Motorola Atrix 4G (MB860).

Diwali is also called the Festival of Lights. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.
It is customary for us to light Diyas at this time.

Cropped and straightened using PS.

Shot this image with my Moto G, edited on my phone using PixlrExpress and resized on my pc with photoshop.
I used the Moto G's flash to light up raindrops on my window at night, pointing at a full moon...this was the abstract result.

Here is a shot I took on a rainy drive home from a scholastic bowl tournament. Really liked the glow of the Mobil station through the drops on the window. Photographed with my trusty Samsung Galaxy S3 and edited in the stock Kit Kat Gallery app. IMG_20140117_220413.jpg

I took this picture with my Galaxy S4 during the 2013-2014 new year's eve party at a disco in Downtown Tucson, Arizona. The picture was cropped and adjusted for contrast using the standard "Preview" software in a MacBook Pro.

It is not often that the sun turns the sky red, orange and yellow during a sunrise. But, a few weeks ago it did in San Diego, California. With just the right amount of whispy clouds in the sky, I was able to capture nature's best light show. I captured the photo with a Samsung Galaxy S3 and edited the photo on the camera with Snapseed,

This was before the University of Minnesota outdoor hockey games on Friday; I had a blast braving the cold :)
I really like the sun giving its last blast before it set.

This is my sister's first dance with her husband. I took the picture with my S3 and edited it with snapseed to darken the shadows and isolate their special moment.
