I took a shot this afternoon of the St. Louis Zoo's Animals Always steel sculpture...arguably the largest sculpture at a public zoo in the US. It's about 130 feet across, 36 feet high, and 100 tons of Cor-Ten steel.

Taken with my Nexus 5. HDR+ was used, but no other edits or filters made.

I always have my phone with me when I'm out running - partly so I can capture some of the sights I come across. I was thinking about the competition when I came across this. For me it shows the essence of metal in the developed world. The conservative industrial stead, iron, bolted down with the younger hardwearing and lightweight aluminium.
