Weekly Photo Contest: Smooth

Smooth afternoon pilsner. Taken with a Moto X (2014).

There are times for rough edges, but other times we want everything to go smoothly — and this week we're looking for photos that follow the idea of "smooth." There are more than a couple ways to illustrate the idea of smooth, and we're looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

We're going to be picking out two winners this week, with each receiving a Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging MicroUSB Wall Charger!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (February 24) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

• Pictures must be taken with an Android device
• Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
• You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
• Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
• You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
• Only one entry per week per person.

Taken on my new 4 day old Nexus 6 and edited with HDR filter on the in camera app.

The picture was taken in a town near where I live in the UK and "smooth" because it highlights the smooth water flowing over the weir and the smooth water of the river.

This picture was taken with my lg g2 using xdabbebs camera mod in sports mode. It's my little 2 yrs old brother so it's hard to take a clear picture of him without him running around lol. That's why I was using the sports mode. On xdabbebs camera mod it takes really fast and clear pictures. The photo is unedited.

When my little brother was born we were all surprised by his eye color because they were very light compared to the rest of the family. They've darkened a bit since but still pretty light. Eyes almost look like glass and look cool in pictures because of their reflectiveness so I consider them to be smooth.

This was taken with my GS3. I don't remember doing any editing other than possibly cropping the pic a bit.

Taken with my Note 4 using the selective focus mode. The picture is of a metal railing over looking the river Clyde in Glasgow. I think the picture looks smooth all over, from the metal railing to the smooth water in the background. The original photo taken with my phone was over 20 MB so this is a compressed image taken from Google Photos, hopefully the quality hasn't been lost too much.

My brother an myself were wandering around the downtown Riverside bar scene, and the night was coming to an end, when we were in the Mission Inn hotel, we snuck into the restricted area of the hotel where they do not allow non-registered guests. We even managed to get into a few places that only staff were not allowed. I snapped a few pictures with my Nexus 5 so that I could remember the night after all the whiskey I had consumed.

This was taken at a camping ground in Australia named Salt Water Creek. The creek was not connected to the ocean, so the water was very smooth all the way across, providing a smooth reflection. Taken with a Galaxy Note 4. Edited with Adobe Lightroom.
