I have an strange app/icon that keeps showing up in my app drawer. Its called SIM toolkit and looks like a SIM card. When you press it nothing happens though.
Any ideas???

Mine comes and goes too. I found this http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIM_Application_Toolkit which might be related.
It showed up on my phone about a month back. Wasn't there when I first got the phone, and it has since disappeared. I looked to see if it was still there when I read this post and it was gone. Weird. Had no idea what it did either, as it wouldn't open.
