Weird issue with dialer

I saw where someone posted this with their Razor, and it's the same issue I'm having with my Nexus:

"Lately during a phone call when I have to use the dialer (to enter an extension or password) , I find that my first or second press doesn't register andthe screen goes dark. Then I have to hit the power button to awaken the screen, but it goes dark immediately again. This process repeats itself until the third or fourth try when I can enter digit/"

Anyone having this issue? They got this response, but I'm not sure if that's it.

"You're placing your hand too close to the proximity detector that prevents you from dialing with your ear. Make sure your hand isn't near the top of the phone. I do this all of the time and it can be very frustrating. I just make sure the fingers that aren't dialing are down near the bottom of the phone. "

I'm almost out of my 30 days I think, and wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug. Thanks for any info.

i have problems with the dialer too, it moves around and when im on a phone call where it's like "please press one" sometimes it won't show up. I think it's ICS related, shouldn't be a problem with the phone. I made a thread about this issue and two others said they had similar issues

Add me to the list too. The screen moves on me and it often goes dark for me reason.

Same here....only fix that I found is to put phone on speaker phone when dialing extra numbers/passcodes. Leaving phone on headset earpiece will bring dreaded dark bug.
