If you're running Gingerbread, open Google Voice and then exit out. Next, press and hold the Home button to open your previous opened apps and try and re-open Google Voice.. it tells me the application is not installed.

Anyone else see this?

Nope for me...GB rooted leak, nothing else special that I can think of. Installed Voice, configured it, exited out, held home key, it re-opens like it should......

Wish I could help you try and replicate it, but I haven't flashed the GB leak yet. And with the rumor that the official DX GB might be coming next week, I think I'll hold off until then.
Have tried rebooting your phone or doing a battery pull? Usually, if I have any issues, a reboot works like a charm.

I dont use voice but I tried what you posted in the OP and the app just opened back up as expected.

I uninstalled Google Voice because I didn't think I would be using it. Was amazed that I was actually ABLE to uninstall it. Thought it was bloat. Guess not.

Are you running the stock GB OTA leak? So am I. Haven't had significant problems. It seems a little unstable occasionally when running heavy-duty apps, but otherwise, very smooth. BTW - good to see you posting again, although from your count, you definitely have been around. Seems like many have moved on compared to the earlier group when the X was first launched.

And as for uninstalling a app, if the device is rooted you have access to uninstall the device without issues.

I have the first stock GB leak.. I wonder if it's because the app in my drawer is called "Voice" but when I press and hold home, it's labelling it as "Google Voice" ?

That could very well be....On mine, 4.5.588, in App drawer, it's Voice, and in recent apps its also Voice.
