Weird Over-sensitive Screen Issue

Sometimes when I go to bed I'll plug in my G4 to charge but I'll use it while it's charging. I've done this with all my phones, but I've noticed with my G4 the screen gets really goofy and over sensitive. If I try and type the keyboard isn't accurate. If I'm scrolling on a Web page it will think I'm long pressing or clicking on something instead scrolling. Again it only happens when I'm charging.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

If anything my experience has been the opposite with the screen feeling less sensitive than it was on my previous phones (Samsungs), whether charging or not.

I find that I'm selecting links when I'm trying to only scroll. The screens can be over sensitive at times but this is not effected by charging. I have a tempered screen protector. Not sure If this will impact on the touch screen sensitivity.

Yep. I feel like it's the complete opposite of when the phone first came out with its unresponsiveness! After the update it's very sensitive!

Yes! I bought my G4 the first week it came out and it has been fine up until about 10 or so days ago when I discovered it pushed an update to it. Since then, it has become mostly unusable... 50% of my attempts to scroll result in it clicking and following a link, or clicking Like, or whatever happens to be on the screen I'm trying to scroll. Trying to move google maps around is annoying... it thinks I simultaneously press one spot on the screen while swiping, so it suddenly zooms in even though I'm using one finger!

I do not use a screen protector. I've tried hard pressing, soft pressing, swiping slowly, swiping quickly, even cleaning the screen. I've also tried a factory reset -- didn't help in the slightest since it immediately put the latest OS back on it. I've also tried clearing the storage cache, and that was equally useless.

It's also worth noting I've been using various Android phones and tablets since about 2009, and never a problem. So, it is not as if I "don't know how to swipe" or something dumb like that.

I'm quite sure this is a software problem, not a hardware problem since it all started with the update. Sometimes, it'll work properly for a little bit then go back to its bad behavior. I've experimented with it and found that when this happens, the "press" is processed instantaneously upon my finger starting to touch the screen, before it even has a chance to notice if my finger is also moving, or being held there. When it works, my finger can be held there for a moment and it'll give a graphical indication that I'm pressing, but it won't mistake this for a press unless I release my finger.... If I start dragging my finger, it gives up on it being a "press" and proceeds to scroll.

Does anyone have any idea what to do? I paid a lot of money for this phone from Best Buy. But, it is too late to return. It is on AT&T's network. Would I bring to Best Buy, and AT&T store, or LG? Also, does anyone know of any "secret setting" or something that controls how long it might wait for a touch to be a press, etc? Note that I'm not willing to root the phone as that voids the warranty.

I fixed it by installing SGS Screen Booster, trying/applying the settings (had no effect at all), then uninstalling the app. The screen suddenly started working immediately after uninstalling this app!

It's worth a try... I don't know if it will help anyone else, or if I just got lucky.

I posted somewhat of a fix to this here down the page a bit...

But try Settings>Accessibility>Dexterity and interaction (Verizon, others will say Motor and cognition)>change Touch feedback time to medium or long.

Some say it works, worth a try. *shrug*

I tried that one earlier and it had no effect for me. It didn't even make it take longer for a long press, like it claimed it was supposed to do.

It worked for 12 hours then went back to being just totally awful. This G4 is mostly unusable. I hate it and wish I bought a G2 for $175. They are almost the same except the G4 has this screen issue and costs a whole lot more.
