Weird screen behaviour

I'm experiencing weird behaviour with my Note 10.1 2014 (P605). While using it for any work, email or reading forums, the two capacitive buttons will light up and then the stern freezes. Moments later the apps that were used previously will start rolling back on the screen until the home screen is reached. Opening anything then will just fill back to the home screen. Capacitive buttons remain lit. Screen does not react to taps. Spen does not give any input.

I have:

FDR several times
Ran safe mode it does not do there(or I did not test long enough)
Presently running latest BTU version with no additional apps other than stock. It still gives the same issue
I had the digitizer and screen replaced 6 months ago due to screen that shattered in a fall.

Any ideas what else to try?

Touchscreen and S Pen have separate circuits and rarely fail at the same time.
Try to reflash your fimware, download from sammobile.
If problem persist, you need to change the mainboard, assume you bought a new LCD assembly 6 months ago.

Thanks. Reflashed the software already. I'll take it to a Samsung repair facility.

Send it to Samsung to replace mainboard may cost you over $200 and an used Note tablet is only around $200, depending the size of RAM, 16GB or 32GB, LTE or Wifi only.
Do it you self, the mainboard may cost only around $100 if you know how. It's simpler than replace the LCD assembly.

Thanks Beut,

But in south africa used spares for these models (basically all smartphones) are unobtainable. Have to buy off ebay or similar add $60+ for shipping. I can't do the job myself so have to farm out. No repair shop feasible close to me will fit secondhand parts. So samsung shop is my best option. Will have a new battery fitted at the same time.

I received the P605 back from the agents. Motherboard fine. Digitizer plug was loose. They also reloaded the latest OS. So far no issues. Runtime 8 hrs. Previously the ssues would manifest within the first hour or so. Holding thumbs all is fine.
