Well I got a little scratch in the corner of the screen

This is off topic but it's great example of the "entitlement mentality" that's becoming a cancer in our great nation. This guy has a "right" to stick it someone else.

It's naive, it's offensive, and it's sad.

I'm no different than all you that rented razors or rezounds. Please close this thread all there doing is attacking me. I know some of you were the same ones that got excited when Verizon changed there return policy to jan 15th, just so you could rent other phones. So suck it.

Well your initial question was whether you should return it and get a new one. I say no. If it were a manufacturer defect, most definitely because I do feel that anything I purchase with my hard earned money should be undamaged if purchased brand new. However, the scratch was caused by whatever other than coming out of the box that way. Just need to be more careful in the future. Now you see how easily it can scratch... put a temporary protector on it until the one you want is back in stock.

And I have heard also that Ghost Armor is great. My coworker swears by it and they are hard to find in AZ. Give that a try.

No, it's quite different. I didn't rent a phone (although I considered it). Returning a phone that's not damaged is allowed. There's a restocking fee. Knowingly returning a damaged phone is flat out unethical.

Those phones that you rent go to returns, and they can no longer be sold as new. My phone would be returned as defective, I am having other issues that other users are not reporting. My phone acted just like the charge and the other person could only hear static when I was talking and then I could hear them fine. I have had one hot reboot the phone just shut off. The screen seems to have really slow refresh rate so I can see icons burned in and they slowly go away. So there are other reasons to try another one. I pay 300 dollars and I baby my phones like seriously, I bought a screen protector for it but it doesn't cover the entire screen. I have had it since day one. The one I want is sold out, plus I hate wet screen protectors but it's my only option to cover the entire screen. I have no idea how the scratch happened, but I think it was putting it in my car dock. That thing fits so snug and you have to fight with it to pull it out. If I return this phone it is just the same as you guys renting phones. The return is looked at no different to them, they lost money on a new device.

So please stop judging if you scratch your phone I'll bet you would be upset too. I mean I've been waiting and waiting for my chance to own a nexus, I held out on Verizon hoping one day that they would get one. I finally got it and yes I want it to be perfect I understand it can't be but I used my upgrade so now I have to pay full retail for a new phone. Which I can't afford. So any way thanks to those that actually gave suggestions, I'll look into ghost armor any one have xo skins on theres?

OP, if your phone is hot rebooting and dropping calls, I'd say return it on those bases alone, regardless of whether or not you have a tiny scratch on your screen.

Edit: I should clarify that when I say "return," I also include the possibility of exchanging for another Galaxy Nexus -- either way, this particular unit is acting up and should be sent back. Whether the OP walks away with another GN, another Verizon phone, or a pocketful of cash is up to him.
