Well, I ordered an XL!

Had the XL for 1 day now - use to larger phone feel - my old eyes are enjoying the larger screen.

After this thread I went to a Best Buy where there was both sized Pixel's shown. I held the XL in my hands and now I appreciate my not-XL Pixel. I wouldn't have like the XL, it's too large.
