Went from Gear 2 to LG G Watch R, and have questions....

Just got the LG today since I'm planning on going from the Note 2 to Nexus 6. In general, I like the look of the watch. More normal looking than the Neo. The always on feature is really nice (the watch hands are nice and bright and can be seen easily even when most of the rest of the watch face is dimmed). The Samsung used to drive me crazy when I would turn to look at the time, and the stupid thing wouldn't turn on. But, I'm struggling with text messages on Android Wear. If I read a text on the LG, and then swipe to the right to discard it, it doesn't mark the message as being read on my phone, which is really annoying. If I don't clear the message on my phone, and then I get a second text, it shows me a little of both, but I can't pull up the new one by itself to read it and clear it. I also can't figure out how to tap the watch, and pull up text messages I have already read. What am I missing? This seems like basic stuff, and Android Wear seems to be far less usable than the Samsung (no speaker phone aside - which I do miss).

Well, answered part of my questions. Changed to Hangouts as my default messaging app, and now when I clear it on the watch, the next message comes in as its own thing. I still can't figure out how to pull up previously read messages on the watch though....

Tried Textra, and it works better than Hangouts. When I read a text on my watch now, it clears it on the phone too. If I swipe left, I can reply directly without having to tell Google who to send a text to. However, I still can't pull up old text messages, which is really annoying. How can Android Wear be so far behind Samsung in functionality?

One of the features of the upcoming Android Wear release will be to review previously swiped away cards. Whether this will allow focus on the messages of one person or not I don't know. Yes Tizen does this one thing better than Android Now but you also have no access to Google Now and Google Maps which IMHO are indespensible.

Android Wear is still a baby OS. It will get much better.

This is what drove me nuts when going from the Gear 2 to the LG G2. I couldn't get Android Wear to handle calls, texts, or calendar notifications as good as the Gear 2.

I tried the Pebble and I think it worked better than Android Wear, but I ultimately went back to Gear 2 Neo.

I am getting the Droid Turbo and I am going to try to side load Gear Manager to see if it works.

However if you are sticking with Android Wear, I found it worked best if I used Hangouts. However I don't really like using Hangouts.
