Different person, different use. Your large hands need a larger device as to not feel so toy like. I had the Note 4, 6S+, 7+, and XL as my previous devices. Nothing but large screens. I just realized the large screen was more cumbersome to me. I could not put the phone in my pocket because it would not fit comfortably.

I have large hands, very large hands and I still prefer the smaller size.

The smaller screen is such a breath of fresh air to use. I thought I'd miss my s7 edge screen size, but I don't at all. The comfort of a 5.0" screen is amazing.

I have used a 6" screen before and I think 5-5.2" is the sweet spot for me, big enough but not too big.

I wasn't even going to get a pixel this time around (I have a 6p) bit when the Verizon BF deals came out, I couldn't pass up getting a 128GB Pixel for $360. While they didn't advertise it ahead of time, they also offered the XL at a similar discount ($600 for the 128GB model). I almost cancelled my Pixel and ordered an XL, but then I saw that it would ship in January ( as opposed to a week later the regular Pixel). Now that I have it, I'm glad I didn't go with the XL. Like others I can't see the difference in resolution ( might've been if they had gone with 1080p on the XL). And even though the battery is on the smaller side, I'm getting much better battery life than I ever did with my 6p, even when it was new. With light use I could see getting 2 days out of it, and I've finally gotten over 3 hours SOT which I never did with my 6p either. Add the fact that it is much easier to use one handed, and I'm a happy camper. If they stick to the same formula next year and maybe add better speakers and waterproofing, this will go to one of the people on my share plan and I'll jump on it ( probably during the BF sale again).

I had a XL 32 GB and had some issues with connectivity and swapped it out for a LG V20, then luckily was allowed to get a Pixel 128GB. I love this size and I loved the phone although when I had the XL I thought it was a little boring. Actually, it's simple, but solid and Android. I came from Apple about a year ago and I am giving it a break, but I liked how well it worked. This phone is similar, and not Apple. Works for me.

The regular sized pixel just feels so well balanced in your hands without having to reach for things. Super comfortable

I have to say, having held an XL in store today, that I'm very surprised at the small difference in size between the two. I actually think I could live with an XL. It's not as tall as I remember my 6P being. The height of my 6P was always the major issue for me.

This was the main reason I ended up purchasing the smaller Pixel from my other choice..the OnePlus 3T. Though big phones are great for watching movies and gaming I prefer to have a phone I can manage one handed and there aren't many good ones in the Android area besides the S7 but I hate the full glass back.

I'm waiting to receive my Pixel to see if I'll end up keeping it. The price is the only factor I don't care much for.

Not sure if I'm mad but I was so impressed with the XL that I've bought one and it arrives today. The feel in hand really wasn't bad and I remember thinking I could have lived with the 6P were it not for the height.

Perhaps I've made my usual mistake. We'll see when I unbox it tonight!

This is the dilemma that I am having now because I want a Pixel so bad. I have long been one of those folks bemoaning the lack of a good no compromises compact flagship phone. However now that one is finally available I just can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger on one.

It's partially the cost, but mainly the fact that my current 6P already does everything I need almost flawlessly. I mean it's not perfect by far and I see many people have jumped from the 6P to a Pixel and couldn't be happier, but at the end of the day my 6P already does everything I need it to, and does it well. This makes it extremely difficult for me to try and justify a nearly $800 (because I would obviously get the 128 version, plus taxes) lateral move just to gain a convenience feature. So that being said I am probably going to hold off on picking up a Pixel until they either get a deep discount (which I don't see happening anytime soon) or something unfortunate happens to my 6P requiring it's replacement.

Also on a completely unrelated note I've recently taken up uni-cycling while taking selfies, and stopped carrying my 6P in a case.

Well I have a Pixel in one hand and an XL in the other. I'd now lose money selling the Pixel and keeping the XL, but that point aside, I think they're both great devices in hand.

I get better battery life on my regular Pixel than I ever got from my 6P, so I'd say if you can afford it, and fancy a smaller device, then go for it.

Yep...XL went back. Same old story........big phone goes back, keeps loving the smaller phone. I will never, ever learn.

I had a 32gb Pixel XL Black from Craigslist and was hoping for maybe smaller screen with larger memory after a couple weeks of used. Fortunately enough, I found another good deal on Craigslist for 128gb Pixel and also black. Just an awesome phone.

The bigger the better for me. I personally enjoy larger screen phones... it makes it much easier for me to use and I can truly enjoy using the device. I have really big hands so no issues for me.

I took the plunge. I just received my pixel xl late last week, but now I'm about to order a pixel from swappa. Thankfully, i'm still within the return period for the xl, so that would go back to google. I realized I would rather have the one-handedness than the slightly bigger screen. I've already ordered a case for it :)

I still remember the time before the touch screen phones, when small screen was the trend. Back then I wanted a bigger screen, but absolutely nothing was available.

Now it's the opposite and I'm having trouble finding a smaller screen phone :) There are no any decent phones below 5", except for the iPhone. My sweet spot is around 4.7", so the 5.0" Pixel was the best compromise.

I am also actually thinking of getting the normal Pixel to compliment the XL.

I met XL is very nice and great but it's still little too big. I also have a OP3T and its way more easy to manage and handle.

Also I have 32gb version of the XL and I have managed to keep half of the storage free but if I decide to get the normal version I will propably go with the 128gb version.

I have way too many phones though 😂

That was a HUGE plus by Google. No matter the 5" Pixel or 5.5" Pixel XL, you get the same phone just a different size. No missing out on specs like Apple does with the iPhone and iPhone Plus variants.

What differences? You mean like screen resolution?
