These are the 2 things Motorola is hyping. They claim they went with a 720p screen and the fabled X8 to increase battery life, yet they release no figures? We know the S4 and HTC One last a day very easily with twice the hardware, and the Droid Maxx needs a huge battery to last 2 days with the same screen and cpu as the X.

So what exactly makes this phone special? The user experience - i.e. always listening and active notifications. That's it ?! It has bloatware, doesn't come with latest Android, and has no guarantee of timely updates, and will have less dev support than any Galaxy.

If you look on Verizon's site, it does state the "Usage Time" and "Standby Time" for the Ultra and Maxx, so we can use the Ultra to gather an assumption about how the X's battery life will shape up. The Ultra has 312Hrs of Standby Time and 1680 minutes of Usage time while the Maxx has 600hrs of Standby Time and 2880 minutes of Usage Time. So figure that the X will be slightly better that the numbers for the Ultra due to the slightly larger battery and smaller screen which will require less power.
