I haven't had a Samsung device in 5 years and am looking at the S20 FE. What are some of the software advantages to be found in the S20? If you ask me about the Pixel I will point to call screening and a host of other features. If you have a Samsung phone what besides the camera and hardware do you like about it?

Miracast support is one of the reasons I stick with Samsung. Google stripped it out in Android 6 but Samsung kept it because their smart TVs use Miracast. I use it on a regular basis and unlike Chromecast it's a universal standard. Being able to cast my screen to any smart TV I've encountered, Roku and other streaming devices, and even windows PCs is incredibly valuable to me.

Themes were big for me as well, but I believe stock Android has a dark mode which basically covers that for me.

Stock Android has come a long way, many of the features that kept me on Samsung are now available in stock Android. Split screen was big for me at one time.

At this point it's the S Pen, native miracast support, and the camera hardware/software that keeps me buying Samsung Note phones. DeX and some other features look interesting, but I don't use them.

I have been on an IPhone for the last three years and was itching to get back on Android just because I was bored with IOS. I got the Pixel 5 first. Loved pure android. It’s clean and, like an iPhone, everything worked. The downside is the hardware is really lack luster. It’s small and light and just feels cheap. So I returned it and tried the S20+. The hardware is beautiful but the software is just what I remember from Samsung. A total mess. I loved the pixel’s launcher so i had to ditch Samsungs straight away. Went to Nova. Unfortunately, its a patch and just doesn’t run as smoothly. Even adding the google feed extension, it just wasn’t the same. Next was trying to get my outlook email account to sync with Samsungs and I couldn’t get it to work. So I couldn’t have my outlook calendar work with any widget except’s outlooks which is an eye sore. I was also looking forward to Android 11 which I thought had been released, but it hasn’t been for the US unlocked version. Honestly, for me, the software is a major negative so i returned it. Going back to IOS again where you can get a great software experience and premium hardware. Hopefully Google releases another premium phone at some point because that would be the sweet spot for me.
