What Android phone would you recommend me?

Since 2,5 weeks I've switched from being an iPhone user (for 3 years) to the new Samsung Galaxy S4... and I have to say I really really love it!
Loving the freedom that the Android platform gives me over iOS.

- But... ever since day 2 I'm having lockscreen issues on my Galaxy S4, sometimes it just refuses to respond to my unlocking-gestures (I'm using swipe to unlock).
And recently I also had a lockscreen that went complete black!
I had to reboot to safe mode, and after that my phone logged out of Facebook/Twitter, etc, etc... so that was pretty annoying, since I had to re-log in at all the social apps.
* In my opinion this is somewhat un-acceptable after having a brand new flagship for only 2,5 weeks, so I'm considering selling my Galaxy S4 if these issues keep bugging me.

-------------
Now I would like your opinion;
What Android device (I have no preference really, brand-wise) would you recommend me?
I just want a phone that gives me reliability for my hard earned bucks... and not an over-hyped device that constantly has issues after only 2,5 weeks.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

# Ow, and I'm definitely not a fan of lots of bloatware, like Facebook home, and such stuff...

Perhaps the n4 or one of the Google edition devices coming out soon. No bloatware.

Curious as to why you didn't take the phone back within the 14 day return period and just swap it. Sounds like you have a defective device that someone else is going to buy unknowingly....

but if you are on AT&T try the LG Optimus G Pro. No lag at all, fast, beautiful screen. and the UI is hardly there at all.

Just an FYI, that phone does have a warranty thru samsung. maybe you should have them replace the device before you sell it to someone else.
but, do what you want, I wouldn't sell a defective device to someone.

Thanks, I just went for the Nexus 4...
Hoping this will be less buggy than my Galaxy S4.

* I probably just had bad luck with a broken S4, but still it's highly frustrating...
(since today my screen wouldn't turn off automatically either, despite having it set to 2min)
