What app causes blue notification light

There is a blue notification light that keeps blinking in the top left. I do not know what alert to clear to stop the notification light. How to know what app is causing a notification light?

Pull down your notification shade and check for notifications. If nothing there then have a peek up at the top left corner in the status bar for an unusual icon.

status bar is the top most row that shows the time, battery level and many icons correct?

I have cleared notifications in the pull down panel and the notification light disappeared. I have alot of notifications in the notifications panel, if I did not clear all, is there a way to know what row of notification from what app is causing the notification light?

From what I remember a blue flashing light is either text or call, may be for both. A lot of apps like Facebook produce a green blink. A red blink is low battery and solid red while charging.
