ADFree (you can find extended hosts files out there too which can help build a bigger wall from ads/malware)
Root Explorer
Rom Manager
Titanium Backup (best, but i use ClockWorkMod (CWM) most of the time)
Clock work Mod (think of it like norton ghost or Acronis true image... but for android phones. It is also a recovery replacment that is a MUST HAVE!!!)
wireless tether
romtoolbox
Rom Manager (not really needed unless roms are available and you dont like the defaults from the phone)
antivirus? i dont use it... yet...
romtoolbox: i like a lot because it does a great job of combining the abilities of many root apps into one app. It basically centralizes all the major things that root access allows into one app so you don't need 20 different ones
That is the "must have list". There is a large selection of great "root user" apps on the market. Theres even more that can be found on private servers through forums and the google machine.
