I have an old LG velvet but the battery is getting depleted pretty quick so I need a good budget phone with decent battery. Preferably something under $200. Also is amazon a good place to buy phones? I see cheap deals but I noticed alot are 3rd party vendors selling refurbished phones and some of them get bad reviews because some of the phones are still locked to a carrier or the phone stopped working. Can someone point me in the right direction https://vlc.onl/ ? I'm in Canada.

I wouldn't buy a refurbished phone. I've had too many bad ones to trust the process. The kicker is they were all warranty exchanges from the factory. If anyone can properly refurb a phone, it should be them. I dubbed the term "refurb roulette" because of it.

Unfortunately I can't suggest a good budget phone because I haven't been into tracking releases in a while. I loved LG phones too, buy finally moved on and on a Sony Xperia now. It would be way outside your budget, though.

Honestly, it is difficult, but not impossible, to find a phone in Canada for less than $200 CAD these days and I doubt any found at that price would be considered "flagship."

Insofar as Amazon.ca is concerned, I have purchased 2 new phones through them and both were positive experiences. My experiences with Amazon.ca have been that it has a pretty good return policy and even when you buy something through a 3rd party vendor, they will make things right if a vendor has been dishonest or unethical.

You could also try Swiftronics Canada, who sell new, open box and used phones. I purchased through them once and it was also a positive experience. Just make sure that you read their return and refund policy before purchasing through them.

I also have sold a lot of used phones through Kijij. All of the phones I have sold were in pristine condition and a great deal for the buyers. Although it may not seem like it sometimes, there are still honest, ethical people in this world and buying a phone through your local Kijiji market is a good option. Just make sure to meet the seller in person and put the phone through its paces before laying down the cash.

Good luck! :)

Just my opinion but I'd avoid buying a preowned, budget-class or low-end phone. Those are in a class of phone that were only marginally usable even when new, so they're even less functional as time goes by. There are some really good bargains to be bought up with new and newer preowned phones. Just be very selective and judicious about where you find and buy them. If there's not a solid return policy, look elsewhere.

Otherwise, if you want to buy a new phone you might want to look into a Samsung A15 5G. It's getting good reviews and available for under $200.

The thing is, there is no such thing as a cheap flagship phone. You're either buying a low-end or mid-range phone, or a flagship model. By definition, a flagship model is a manufacturer's high-end, premium line of phones -- they're pricier, constructed with faster processors, more RAM, more internal storage, better cameras, etc. For a power user, a flagship model is an appropriate investment For most phone users a flagship is an unneeded extravagance. Most users can get by fine with just a low or mid-range phone. As you're trying to find a replacement phone, use established terminology to make it a less cumbersome task.

Welcome to AC!

Definitely not going get any New flagships device under 200.00 and if you find a older flagship under 200 it be too old , best bet a mid-range but don't expect a great experience because a good mid-range be around 500.00
