I love it too but the new update on the Mms viewer is awful! Can't stand it.

I've just set up hangouts for all sms. I've tried go sms pro but I didn't like it because my regular sms app would still notify me of incoming sms. Has go sms pro fixed it to where it would intercept all imcoming sms? Or is there a way to set it up that way? lmk thanks.

There's sliding messaging pro (which I use on my HTC) or there's evolvesms which I've heard is very good...

I'm a long time chomp user but that 8 SMS looks good.. Stock with quick reply? That's my dream!

And made from known ROM developers is always a good thing.. I may have to try this out .

Also +1 for Textra. (Or are we at +2 now?)

I love how fast it is (doesn't lag when scrolling through a thread like the stock app).
It has dark/light theme options, custom bubble colors, custom notification icon color, etc.
Quick reply mode allows you to completely view a message without clearing the notification if you don't want to respond right away, or you can reply without exiting the app you are currently in (it's pretty useful).

My only gripe is it doesn't use the phone's built in SMS/MMS notifications (nothing shows up on the lock screen, just in the notification bar).

I've tried other texting apps, but none convinced me to ditch stock like Textra has. I love it.

I use ChompSMS. ChompSMS and Textra are made by the same people so either works.. They are pretty awesome.

Just a word, if any of you have AT&T, don't use their all-in-one messaging program....I decided I didn't like it and tried to uninstall it. Bad idea....it seemed to have it's own kamikaze feature built in...After I deleted the app none of my other apps would work...i could send texts but not receive...got sent a warranty replacement and that didn't work either. So I called att one last time and come to find out AT&T messages was still on my account on their end....holding my messages hostage! The dude on the other end of the line manually erased it and voila! Text messaging heaven. Can't say it will be the same for everyone, but I went through a whole week of hell trying to find out what was wrong, checking APN settings, message center numbers, etc. Was a big pain.
