what are the 2 circles next to the camera facing you

i tried to see if it was for cameras/recording/notifications but i dont know what it does

it doesnt even point it out in the manual

one is definitely the light sensor for automatic brightness. I don't know about the second.

Proximity: Turn off the screen when you hold the phone up to your face.
Light sensor: Adjust screen brightness based on ambient light.
