What are these "//voice check" text messages I'm getting?

Some times I send myself a text message as a reminder for later. So I have a text stream of things sent from my number to my number in my messaging app. For some reason, I am getting occasional texts in this "conversation" that consist of //voice check. Anyone know what these texts are, why they are sent, etc.? I didn't turn anything up on a forum search...

I've gotten those as well- but only after I've pressed *2 to get to support- it comes thru (twice) as soon as the sprint zone app pops up- even if I don't click on "call sprint"- haven't seen it any other time-

Ah - I am seeing the same correlation. Maybe some sort of ID check on their part or something? Guess I'll just delete them.

That's just Sprint system glitches that's all. Ignore them or delete. Not everyone experience it though. Fortunately I don't.

On my EVO, if you dial *2, it will pull up Sprint Zone. If you look under, My Device it will say my connections. A test will be run for voice & for data. Shortly after it runs those 2 tests, you will receive that text. Should see 2 circles that change from black to green as well.

You can also duplicate it by running sprint zone and clicking on "I need help" under "help". It will automatically run voice and data tests and text you.
