What are those two lights next to the top speaker on the left? I thought they were LED?

I've never had them turn on. If they aren't lights, what are they?

Those are sensors. The only led is in the speaker grill.

Proximity Sensor (When an object gets close to the sensor, the screen turns off, used mainly for turning off the screen when you're on the phone and don't want to press random buttons with your cheek) and Light Sensor (for automatic backlight/auto brightness adjustment.
