What Are Your Impressions on The HTC A9

I'm actually looking forward to the A9. I literally could not care less that it looks like an iPhone 6. Looks like a nice step up from the Desire 626s I'm using on Sprint prepaid. Better specs all around and it includes a high-end DAC with an internal amp, which is great for me since I use my phone for a few things at most: calling, texting, browsing web, listening to music with my budget audiophile headphones. So I'm looking forward to this. Don't give a damn what the haters say. If HTC goes under, so be it. They're not going to go under, however, because a bunch of people on Android websites and blogs refuse to buy the A9 because it resembles an iPhone.

This isn't meant to compete with S6 or iPhone. It's a mid priced smart phone...... As for the battery, it's a different processor and software. Wait and see how it actually works when it comes out. It might surprise you. (Hopefully).....

What concerns me about that battery is this is the smallest battery in any of the One series phones. The Samsung S6 has a bigger battery with similar size AMOLED screen and its battery life is horrendous.

I'm personally very excited about this phone. I'll be coming from a OPO and between the fingerprint scanner, the SD card slot, the high quality audio parts, the reduced size, the AMOLED screen, and Android Marshmallow the A9 has everything I want in a phone. The awesome camera is a huge plus, too.

I went ahead and pre-ordered one. I like the size, as I am just deciding that my new 2015 Moto X Pure Edition is too big. I tried to force myself to deal with it but it continues to bug me. I knew when the 15 day return date was approaching that I had to make that call, and I thought I had decided that I could deal with it but it is the one thing that is keeping me from fully enjoying it.

I have an LG G Flex 2 that feels great in my hand, is barely noticeable in my pocket, and has a pretty good camera, but the screen has to stay on the highest brightness setting, which makes it useless outside and it throttles and slows a bit when it gets hot. Hell, my 2013 Moto X runs as fast if not faster than the G Flex 2 most of the time.

So, I look forward to giving the A9 a shot and will post back here after I get it. Looking forward to hearing what others think and as well as reading some reviews soon.

This is probably my biggest concern, however, with the quick charge, it should not be that much of an issue. I use my 2015 Moto X Pure quite a bit throughout the day and if I do need to get a charge, it goes from under 30% to almost 100% in less than an hour.

I'm still using my M7 and it looks and performs like the day I bought it. But I am interested in the A9 in case my M7 finally does crap out. I don't care if it looks like an iphone. The best part is that it is not an iphone.

Don't forget that its pushing more pixels (being a QHD screen) and a more powerful processor.

I just looked on the Sprint website and their offering this phone for $696 off contract. Now there's a deal!

I suspect you're being tongue in cheek about the price since you can order it directly from HTC for $399 unlocked and with one year of insurance.

I'm being serious about Sprint offering it for $696. More than a little sarcastic about saying thats a deal......

I've wanted to pull the trigger several times to preorder but the battery life is a concern for me. If battery life ends up being good, this could be one of the best phones of the year in my opinion. I wonder when the embargo on reviews will end.
