What can I do with a SIM-less Nexus 4?

in the same boat...anyone else order the t-mobile sim go to track their package and when you click the tracking number the UPS site says you entered an invalid tracking number? whats that about? i know UPS tracking #'s start with 1Z.....but the tracking number given doesnt...so thus i guess UPS doesnt recognize it.

I ordered a sim from T-Mobile a few hours ago, and if I remember right they send it USPS not UPS. That could be why UPS don't recognize it.

really? when i go to the order status page in the e-mail, it asks for order number, billing zip code and last name. i type all that in. it then takes me to the page and says it shipped when it did and carrier: UPS as well as a tracking ID. i click the ID link and it takes me to UPS.com and says cant recognize the tracking number.

does UPS send some stuff through USPS or something? i could def see that being possible, seeing as the thing i order can fit in a standard envelope, they might just have USPS deliver the smaller things.

I could have read it wrong. It was about 5 am when I ordered it. I just checked my order and its still processing with no shipping info, so it could be through ups. It did say expected delivery on the 8th of February.

I ran into the same problem when I ordered the micro sim from T-mobile. The shipping company is USPS, not UPS. Also, add 92 before the tracking number. For some reason, T-mobile omitted that from the tracking number they gave us.

Just got off the phone with ST. I tried to order a micro sim for my N4 to use on AT&T. Guess what, they are out and don't know when they will be back in stock!!!!!! My N4 shipped today. Guess it'll make a great door stop!!

Try Walmart.com - search for Straight Talk AT&T Micro Sim

OK. Now I feel dumb. I ordered the Nexus 4 Tuesday, got it Thursday. I ordered a SIM from T-mobile Wednesday, and it won't get here until 2/6. In the meantime, what all can I do with this phone?

You can certainly still just hold it up to your ear in a crowded place and look important.

walmart.com has the straight talk micro sim for AT&T in stock. Also, check out their bundle with the $45 card ... saves you $5. I'm waiting for my SIM card - should be arriving today.

I'm afraid it's going to take a lot more than a Nexus 4 to make me look important.

I went to the USPS site and plugged in both the tracking number and tried adding 92 in front of it. Neither worked. If it is coming by USPS instead of UPS, though, that's a pretty big fail, T-Mobile.

Everything you can do on a Nexus 7 basically but you just have two bloatware, messaging and phone.

There is no way I would wait 2 or 3 days for that SIM. I'd drive to a Tmo store and buy a SIM from them right now.

That's what I thought too.

Actually. I was told by the T-Mobile rep that I got sim at today when I was at the mall to call them at the end of the cycle. I had her just activate it on the $50 plan right away. But according to her if you call and tell them you had it set up at walmart, and they put you on the wrong plan. She said it usually will work. She said that the $30 plan was a walmart and tmobile web only, they cant do it at the store. Anyway, I ordered a sim for no reason, at least it was only a buck and now I have a back up.

I read elsewhere that the sim cards they give you in a TMO store can not be used with the $30/month option, since that is online-only.

True, based on my eperience. I was told at the T Mobile store that they can give and activate SIM cards for all no contract monthly 4G plans other than the web-only $30 (100 minutes 5 GB) plan.

While I am waiting for my SIM card I've been using mine as a voip phone wiht Groove IP.
