What can the ChromeCast do that my TV cannot?

I have a Panasonic Veira TV, Tivo, and Xbox, Roku, and just plugged in a ChromeCast I got for free. I am wondering if there is much that the ChromeCast can do that my TV and other devices could not already do. They all seem to do Netflix, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, and Media Centers and the Roku has it's channels. What makes the Chromecast "special".

Chromecast can cast the phone screen to the TV - so whatever you have on the phone - games, websites, any app - will appear on the TV.

Chromecast isn't special , but if you have a JoyDrone misuc adapter for Chromecast you could play your music , pandora , Spotify to any speaker and place without the TV .
