HI there,

I know there is different wall, in-car chargers and their quality etc. with different 'A' etc. so I am looking for a car charger and cable which would do its job as it should be for LG G4 phone.

I have found so far that 'USB 2.0 A 28/24AWG Cable' is the best for fast speed charging, is that a good one? Also any ideas about the car charger ? Or perhaps I should go just for this kind of charger so I don't need to buy an extra one? https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...a7f%253Ag%253A90wAAOSwL7VWl8i3&token=QRAEmEXN

What are the numbers (A, AWG etc.) I should look for both items, so it chargers in decent time and with the quality?

Any help appreciated regards.

For chargers, you want either a minimum 1.8A rating (equal to the OEM rating), or a Quick Charge 2.0 certified (QC2.0, not to be confused with generic terms like fast charger, rapid charging, etc) charger. Anker is quite popular, but I haven't tried them yet. Aukey is also popular, but I wouldn't recommend them. The ports on the first one loosened up quickly and had issues maintaining the connection. While the warranty process was painless, the replacement did the same thing to a lesser extent.

I used to think all micro USB cables were junk by design and bought them in bulk from My Cable Mart. I've since tried another brand called Volutz that I've been fairly pleased with. They're a braided premium cable with some of the thickest power wires I've seen. 19AWG, and the lower the number means thicker wire. For the price, I think they are great and they look cool IMHO.

After reading customer reviews on Aukey and Anker, I finally settled down on a 4 port Tronsmart. It has one QualCom-2 certified port which would go well with LG G4. Compared to conventional shape, it has long neck which is ergonomically convenient. And the cable is of 19 SWG with high quality pins at both ends. The differentiating factor with other brands is its cable quality.

I have found out that there is quick charge 3.0 as well what about those car chargers?

The G4 is only QC2.0. QC3.0 chargers should be backwards compatible, but would be a waste of money on the G4. I'm not saying they are bad, you just wouldn't get any benefit from them over a QC2.0.

So it doesn't support 3.0 ? I have checked motherboards and it supports only 2.0 ... so there is not point for 3.0 then..

QC 3.0 wasn't even available when the G4 came out. QC2.0 compatibility is also somewhat iffy on the G4. You don't really get full charging speeds unless the screen is turned off and the phone cool. LG seems to be very aggressive with thermal based charge throttling. With the screen on, charge rates aren't much better than the OEM charger. It also throttles more on QC2.0 than standard chargers when it heats up.

With the screen off, though, the G4 charges stupid fast on QC2.0.

I use Anker 4.8A dual port car charger and It is perfect. I bought it on ebay.
But I have problems with the cables... I want to buy a long one (3m) but none of them can charge my phone fast. Can you suggest me a long cable?

I still recommend the Volutz brand, which are available on Amazon. They come in 1, 2, and 3m lengths.
