I just returned my Verizon GTab and drove directly across the street to Bestbuy and picked up a Sprint one instead. I had the Verizon one for 14 days, but found the 3G plan to be seriously lacking on Verizon -- it was kind of expensive for what you get. The one caveat was that Verizon's plan is month to month. Still, since I decided (after playing with my Tab for the 14 days) that I really WILL get a lot more out of 3G connectivity than without it, I decided to look for plans that made better sense. Verizon's data plan offers just that: data. Texting costs extra and there is no plan that included unlimited texting. Sprint's 2Gig data plan included unlimited sms/mms. Also, if you go with the two year contract the cost of the device was just $299. I figure that even if I terminate that contract early, I am still ahead of the game with Sprint over the meager plan offerings at Verizon. Besides, Sprint would very likely work with me to negotiate that ETF down since I am a Premier customer. So, I went with Sprint and couldn't be happier. I felt like the Verizon version of the device was so crippled by their terrible plan options that I would not have gotten the most out of having a Galaxy Tab. And, as a Premier customer, they will offer me an upgrade in a year anyway
Oh, and btw, I got Verizon to refund the ridiculous restocking fee by complaining about the lack of a native video chat app. Even their tech department was stumped as to why Verizon would put video conferencing as a benefit of the tab right on their website when it can't be done -- of course "we" know it can -- but what Verizon's staffers don't know worked in my favor this time. The salesman at Verizon made the mistake of using the word "Skype" when describing the video capabilities on the Tab and, as we know herein, there is no way to "Skype." Yet
What idiots. You would think they would better educated Their staff. I see more and more people going w/ the t mobile or sprint tab. I am glad I have the sprint tab.
I have my Tab on Sprint -- with the smaller data plan. I love it -- I've been with Sprint for a long time - - have my evo, wifi and hub's phone, as well as my tab on it. Jeez, that's a lot of accounts -- they should be nicer to me
I also have my Tab through T-Mobile, because it has more internal storage than the Sprint and Verizon Tab. The AT&T Tab was never an option to me, mainly because it was the same expensive price as the ipad.
