What could be going on with my phone and battery?

I bought the GNex about 4 days before going on a holiday cruise with the family to Mexico. I was getting about 15h of use out of the battery each day and felt happy about that. When I was in Mexico, I hardly used the phone due to the high rates/fees. On the last day coming home on the cruise ship, I noticed that the battery drained by noon (unplugged from charger around 7am but did not use at all). Now I am finding that the battery is out within about 7-8h with very light or no use.

Could there have been something during our trip that has messed up my phone? The phone right now says 35% left on battery at 2pm (unplugged at 9am today) and says Android OS 55%, Screen 22% and Phone idle 14% as the top 3 things.

I can't do *228 on this phone since it's 4G so I am not sure what could have happened. For a while, I thought it was wasting battery looking for service since we were on a ship and foreign country, etc. But now we are home for 3 days. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

edit: have you tried a factory reset?

If you went to Mexico the phone's constant (unsuccessful) attempts to lock to VZW's 3G/4G network while you were on the ship would drain the battery in very short order.

If that is indeed the issue, it will clear up when you're back home. If not, as willayb alluded to, screencaps of your two battery screens would be immensely helpful. Will tell us what the culprit is.

Thanks. Sorry to be a dork but where is the 2nd battery screen? I only see the one that gives the hours of use and the % by application.

I will screencapture and post shortly... Thanks! Katherine

Not yet but desperately trying to avoid that since i have my screens/widgets set up just the way I like them and I it takes me hours to recreate them all... Probably as soon as I call Verizon tech support, they will tell me to do just that since that seems to be their answer to everything.

if you click on each separate process in the battery screen you can see the time on values. also click the graph and take a screenshot of that please
