what do I need for the S health app to work on my S6

Does the S health app work without any additional gear. For example on my phone only or do I have to acquire a wrist band or something like that. I would like to track my cycling activity on this app.

The basic functions work fine without any additional hardware. You just have to have your phone on you (pocket). I use my step counter every day.
